The graph

Light moving through the record.

Behind this page is the shape of the platform itself: entities as points, relationships as fiber, and queries as light finding a path. Every edge you can see stands for the kind we keep — typed, dated, and carrying its evidence.

What an edge is

A relationship is a claim.
We treat it like one.

Directed at, employed by, owns, married to, present at, supplied, succeeded, sanctioned alongside. Every edge in the graph is typed — so a co-directorship never blurs into a friendship — and every edge is dated, so it holds for an interval, not forever.

And every edge carries evidence: the filing, the record, the registry line, the press item it was read from. Pull the thread and the sourcing comes with it. An association the record cannot support is not in the graph, however plausible it looks.

Query patterns Asked in plain language

Association

Who are the likely associates of this person? Ranked by the strength and recency of the connecting evidence — never by co-occurrence in a headline.

Participation

What operations, transactions or proceedings has this entity been part of — filtered by place, by role, by window of time?

Path

How does entity A reach entity B? The chain of ownership, employment and family between them, each hop with its evidence attached.

Change

What changed around this entity since a date — new officers, new filings, new associations, closed intervals — as a delta, not a re-read.

Worked example

what operations has john doe participated in, in kuwait, in the last ten years?

3 events match. participant: john doe · location: kuwait · window: 2016–2026. each with role, dates, and the records that place him there.

how is meridian salt group connected to the second event?

one path, two hops: doe — director of — meridian salt group; meridian salt group — contractor on — event. intervals overlap; evidence attached at both hops.

names are illustrative; the shape of the answer is not

A person, a place, a window of time, and a follow-up that pivots to a company — one line each. The graph is what lets a question span collections without anyone writing a join.

Time, again

The graph remembers its old shapes.

Because every edge is an interval, the graph can be evaluated as of any date. Ask who controlled the company today and you get today's answer. Ask as of the day the contract was signed and the graph quietly reassembles itself into what the record supported then — the resigned directors back in their seats, the later acquisitions gone.

That is the difference between a link chart and an instrument. A link chart shows what someone drew. This shows what the record shows, at the moment you name.
